The VAFA Player Assistance Program provides all current registered VAFA players & umpires with access to FREE counselling services with a qualified practitioner through our program provider, Converge International. Through the Player Assistance Program, current VAFA Players & Umpires will be able to access up to three (3) counselling sessions delivered by a qualified practitioner.
The VAFA is always striving to provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for members of it’s Community and is conscious of supporting key areas of Member Welfare, including (1) Mental Health (2) Child Safeguarding (3) Harm minimisation – Gambling.

The Player Assistance Program will be delivered as a 6-month trial to allow for collection of insights and data on how to deliver this opportunity to VAFA Players and Umpires moving forward. All information collected through these services is 100% confidential and data collected by the VAFA is de-identified.
